Plenary 4: Arrangements for a European IGF and future EuroDIG events
 

 
Focus of the plenary

Is there a need/desire for a European IGF? What should be its mandate and objectives? If so, how should such a regional forum work? How should it link to national, global and other regional Internet governance initiatives? How could it help to improved e-participation in internet governance?

Format of the Plenary

There will be a moderated interactive discussion involving the whole audience.

Part 1. national IGF structures (max 30mins) :
Representatives of national IGFs will share their experience gained on national level with a focus that is relevant for the discussion on the furture European IGF/EuroDIG.
 
Part 2. towards a future EuroDIG/European IGF structure (50mins)
a) Objectives and Value added of a future EuroDIG/European IGF This part of the discussion will be devoted to gathering the views of the audience to what should be the objective and value added of a future EuroDIG/European IGF structure, both with regard to the national and regional IG discussion and also what should be the contribution to the global IG discussion. It gather the views of the audience on how they think a future European IGFEuroDIG should link to and what it should contribute to the discussion on national and global level and how the relevant stakeholders on European level should be linked in the EuroDIG/European IGF process.
 

b) . Arrangements and Structure of a future EuroDIG/European IGF This part of the discussion should focus on how such a European IGF/EuroDIG arrangement should look like (what online and real world activities), what the relevant stakeholders and institutions are that should be included in the process and how it should be organisatorically linked to the national and global IGF structures. A special focus will be put on integrating stakeholders from South Eastern European Countries in the European Internet Governance discussion
